Time of My Life - Reise-Reflexionen von Gavin

Writer's picture: J-Term 2020J-Term 2020

Over the last 14 days I have experienced so many new cultures. We began in Münich where I had to use public transportation, something I had never done before. But after these two weeks, I am sure that I could use the tram, or the U-Bahn without hesitation. One of my goals was to become better at my German. I think I accomplished this goal when I was translating another group's conversation for my friend. Also I had an entire dream completely in German. One of my other goals was to try to enjoy the sites. At first I was filming a lot of video with my GoPro. I later began just enjoying the sites rather than filming constantly. Our trip was filled with running, trail-hopping and walking an average of 21,000 steps a day. But each step made me want to go to Germany more. If I have any advice for students who would like to come, my top 4 things would be 1. Definitely come here 2. The doors open weird - be prepared 3. Bubbly water > still water 4. Try new things. I myself am very sheltered and “picky” especially when it comes to food but this trip I branched out and had the time of my life.
