This trip to Germany has been absolutely amazing! Seeing a different culture for the first time - especially one that’s I’ve studied and heard about for years - was incredible. I did manage to order my food in German multiple times, which was one of my goals! I saw so many incredible sights - cute towns and sprawling landscapes and crowded cities, not to mention stunning castles and efficient public transportation! I loved every city we visited for different reasons. München was a great introduction to Germany with a classic city vibe. Stuttgart was beautiful with its bowl-like structure and gorgeous layout. Heidelberg felt almost magical, with its castle and view of the whole city below. Darmstadt and Frankfurt’s companies and city centers were bustling and full of energy. And Braunschweig, the city I’m set to study in starting this fall, truly captured my heart with its charming vibe and cute streets. The long train rides between were full of fun and the tram rides were surprisingly enjoyable as well, coming from someone who hasn’t traveled on public transportation much at all. And Germany’s clear fondness for bakeries is relatable and my favorite. Overall, this trip was the perfect way to start the new year and the new decade, I had a fantastic time and I’m sad to see it end.
