As the Germany trip is coming to a close, I can say with confidence that never want to leave this place. Germany has completely impacted me in ways that I wasn’t expecting. I’ve fallen in love with the culture, the people and the beauty that each city holds. On this trip I’ve learned that I absolutely hate sparkling water, and eating pizza with a fork and knife is a hassle more than it is enjoyable. Over the course of this whole trip, I probably reached over 100,000 steps, though this wasn’t one of my goals, it’s still rather impressive. What was also impressive was the architecture, massive cathedrals, clock towers and castles. Old buildings that brought you back to the 16th century and beyond, things you wouldn’t normally see in the US. It was historical, magical and all'around breathtaking. The food was also hard to beat, Kartoffel und Weißwurst and Pommes frites (French fries) with mayo (which I’ve been doing for years and had no clue that it was a German thing)! Though, it wouldn’t have been as fun without all the amazing people I’ve met on this trip. It’s crazy how close people become when you‘re forced to live with them for 2 weeks, but I’m so glad to have met them all. There are too many inside jokes to count and not enough Mezzo Mixes (a German Coke + Fanta soda mix) to drink. I know one day I’ll be back to Germany and hopefully it’ll be longer than 2 weeks next time around.
