During this J-term trip I believe I accomplished all of my goals. My goals were to try new food, make friends and learn about job opportunities. I tried a lot of traditional German food and food I have never heard of and I am happy I tried them. Most of it was great and it definitely expanded my knowledge about German food. I also made some new friends from Germany and from URI. Meeting kids from another country was interesting and it was cool to learn about how their lives differ from ours in the United States. I also feel like I made friendships with other URI students after spending 2 weeks with them. After doing many activities with all of them, I made many friends and made stronger friendships. This trip also also informed me a lot about job opportunities. We toured many car companies that emphasized the need for engineers. We also toured companies like Merck and MTU that also explained what they are doing and why they need engineers.

Overall the trip was very informative and fun. It was very busy and we had a lot of things planned but it was planned out well. I enjoyed the city tours and seeing the old buildings and architecture. I think that it was a lot and the days were long but I wouldn’t change the schedule. If it was shortened or extended then we wouldn’t have been able to see everything or we would have to go for a longer time. I am glad I went on this trip and learned a lot about German culture and career opportunities.
