After having been to Germany, I can say with full confidence that it is a great place to travel to, study in, and work for. Germany is a country whose entire culture forms you to be the best
version of yourself that you can be. The universities we visited focus on personal growth
through independence and intellectual drive. The companies we visited focus on creating a
community-based work environment that positively impacts the world. And the people we met expect you to be polite, concise, and aware of the impact you have on others.
My personal goals for this trip were pretty simple because it is only my first semester in German class; I wanted to hold a casual conversation, ask for directions and understand the answers, and go out at night to enjoy the cities and culture in a more personal way. During this trip, I held multiple easy “small-talk” conversations (even if I wasn't the most clear or easy to understand). I learned how to navigate the trains and buses. And I went out on multiple occasions with various native-German or study-abroad students, where I really enjoyed myself.
This J-term trip to Germany was amazing, and I can’t wait to come back.
