This trip has definitely enhanced my understanding of German culture as well as made me
more confident in my German skills. One of the things I really wanted to do on this trip was
order food and coffee in German. This is something I was able to do at every restaurant and
coffee shop we went to. Being able to do this small thing has given me the confidence to know that I am able to get by speaking the language. Another goal I had was to have conversations in German. This was a bit harder to do since most people we met wanted to speak English. However, at one restaurant, I was able to hold a basic conversation with a girl from Braunschweig. My last goal was to get out of my comfort zone, which I definitely achieved on this trip. I am not a very social person but this setting forced me to interact with people and I have made some very good friends on the trip and have learned a lot. The part of this trip that I want to carry with me for a while is what I learned about the schools. In a year and a half, I will be studying at a school here and it was really interesting to get to tour the schools and talk to the students. I have learned the benefits of both the schools and feel like I am able to make a better choice at the school I would like to attend when I study here. Insgesamt war diese Reise ein sehr gute Reise für mich und meine Deutschsprache.
